Everyone is Creative
Creativity is the ultimate expression of what it means to be human. Creativity is what has taken us from primitive cave dwellers to what we are today. It is the force behind everything that we, as a people, have been able to accomplish, develop and conquer in a relatively short amount of time on this planet.
Everything that makes up your life as you know it, right now, is a direct result of your own creative efforts. Look around... everything that's in your life right now is a product of your own creative efforts.
Yes, you have had some fixed circumstances to deal with but that comes with the territory of being creative. If we could change every condition in the world and in ourselves to suit our liking, if we could bend reality to better serve our needs, there wouldn't be much need for creativity, would there? Basically, we'd be able to simply wave our hands and transform anything and everything into whatever we wanted.
Where's the fun in that?
Where's the challenge in that?
Where's the reward in that?
We started out our lives in an almost constant state of creativity. We spent our days as children drawing and coloring and pretending. We produced art and music and forts out of anything and everything we could get our hands on. We made up stories and games and plays.
Eventually, as we grew and matured and as our desires for the future took shape, we shifted our creative efforts to building a life for ourselves. We made choices. We set goals. We accomplished things. For a lot of people, this is where their creative story ended. It was time to stop creating a life and time to start simply living it.
Is it any wonder that so many of us feel stuck and stagnant and uninspired?
Being creative reminds us just how much we can overcome and accomplish and achieve.
It’s at the heart of what it means to be you and once you take yourself off of autopilot and choose what you create, I KNOW you’ll be happier with your results.
