Line & Color

This is the earliest style of painting I did. Before the mixed media, before the faces, before I had any idea what I was doing or where it was going, there was this: color and line and the feeling of figuring something out for the first time. I was learning how to see, how to let shapes talk to each other, how to stop controlling every mark and start trusting what happened when I didn't. When I return to this style now, the results are always loose and loud and full of energy.
